INTRODUCTION OF NEW LASER BEAM PRINTER
New Color imageRUNNER LBP5460 Extends Productivity of the imageRUNNER
MFP Line To The Desktop
Lake Success, N.Y., August 3, 2009 – Adding to its robust line-up of
award-winning imageRUNNER systems and helping to redefine desktop
productivity, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging and office
solutions, today introduced its latest desktop laser beam printer (LBP)
- the Color imageRUNNER LBP5460. This model is the newest addition to
the Company's successful LBP desktop printer line, which also includes
the Color imageRUNNER LBP5975 and LBP5970, both introduced last year.
Developed on the same high-performance architecture which powers the
Canon Color imageRUNNER product line, the Color imageRUNNER LBP5460 is
an economical, full color, laser beam printer with enhanced productivity
and extraordinary functionality for mid-volume workgroups that are
seeking to print color and black-and-white documents. Utilizing Canon's
patented Color RAPID Fusing System and revolutionary short vertical
paper path, the Color imageRUNNER LBP5460 delivers fast first-printout
times and high-quality, letter-sized output speeds of up to 31
pages-per-minute in color and black-and-white, while maintaining a
compact footprint.
"Not only is the new Color imageRUNNER LBP5460 an ideal, single-function
solution for nearly every corporate environment and budget, the new user
interface makes document printing easier than ever for the end-users,"
said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems
Group, Canon U.S.A. "Additionally, this new, compact imageRUNNER LBP can
easily integrate into an existing imageRUNNER fleet infrastructure,
helping to provide administrators with the ability to track total device
output and consistent device management."
To help optimize productivity for customers and end-users, the Color
imageRUNNER LBP5460 features a new, remarkable five-line LCD user
interface (UI), and standard remote UI utility which enables users to
check the unit's status, track current job progress, monitor paper and
toner levels and administer mail boxes of stored documents saved on the
system. To help minimize downtime, the Canon LBP5460 includes a new
front-loading, all-in-one cartridge and new HTML-based documentation to
locate answers to maintenance questions more quickly. In addition,
administrators can easily utilize management tools such as imageWARE
Accounting Manager and imageWARE Enterprise Management Console to
seamlessly integrate consistent device management within an imageRUNNER
MFP infrastructure.
Realizing business environments always require advanced workflow support
and improved document processing in a compact imaging system, the Color
imageRUNNER LBP5460 comes standard with support for UFR II, PCL and
PostScript 3 emulation. With optional features that include Canon's
Wireless LAN Kit – the latest in wireless technology – bar code
printing, and support for IPv6/SNMPv3 protocol, the new Color
imageRUNNER LBP5460 is not only ideal for business environments seeking
a compact laser solution, but it can also meet the advanced application
requirements of industries such as education and healthcare.
The Color imageRUNNER LBP5460 is an ENERGY-STAR Qualified digital
imaging system that draws as little as 1.8W of power in Deep Sleep Mode
for optimal efficiency. Its RAPID fusing system reduces warm-up time for
first prints, thus reducing overall energy consumption and the
all-in-one cartridge not only eliminates additional waste items, but is
also eligible for Canon's cartridge recycle program.
The Canon Color imageRUNNER LBP5460 is scheduled to be available later
this month through Canon authorized dealers.
