New 7.0 Offerings Give Users Enhanced Paper Distribution Solutions WITHIN Existing Computing Network Infrastructure

NEW YORK April 23, 2002: eCopy, Inc. a leading provider of products that transform paper documents into digital information, announced today the availability of Release 7.0 of the eCopy Suite of scanning and document imaging software. The eCopy Suite which includes eCopy ShareScan 7.0 and eCopy Desktop 7.0, offers users superior ease of use and enables companies to add advanced paper distribution and retrieval capabilities without the added costs of IT infrastructure changes.

The new release of the eCopy solution will be on display at the Canon Digital Solution Forum taking place at New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center April 23- 25. "This latest version from eCopy further solidifies their products' ease of use and seamless integration with widely used enterprise applications," said Keith Kmetz, Program Director, Multifunction Peripherals and Solutions , IDC. The eCopy Suite coupled with the high speed scanning capabilities of a Canon digital copier, enable any user in an organization to transform paper documents into information that is easily integrated into all commonly used business applications. Using the eCopy Suite, companies can provide open access to high-speed scanning that connects to the company's e-mail and other networked enterprise applications for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution and management of electronic copies of paper documents.

Searchable Text:
Users can scan documents at the copier and eCopy ShareScan identifies the text in the scanned image and embeds it in the output file. The text in the file can then be automatically indexed by document management applications, so users can search for documents by entering any text contained therein.

Enhanced Activity Logging:
In addition to previous activity logging, Administrators can now customize five additional fields so that scanning activity can be tracked based on department, project or client name.

eCopyFax:
Inbound fax to e-mail; Outbound fax via copier, e-mail or web; Integration with eCopy software & 3rd party applications.

LDAP/SMTP Mail:
LDAP/SMTP Mail; Authentication of user by network login name for NT or Novell networks; Benefits corporations that have standardized on LDAP for corporate e-mail directory.

SMTP Local Address Book:
Import up to 5000 addresses; Auto administrator adds new entries not found in the LDAP Address Book.

Additional usability enhancements to ShareScan include: e-mail to multiple recipients; multiple printer selection when scanning to a printer, and naming the document prior to sending.

New ShareScan Partner Product Support and Operating Support:
Lotus Notes Enhancements; RightFAX 8.0 Support; GroupWise 6.0 Support; Expanded Omtool Support; and support for Windows 2000. Additional usability enhancements to Desktop 7.0 include: faster access to Scan Inbox documents; and support for all file types created by Canon "i" models. Additional Desktop partner product support and supported operating systems include: GroupWise 6.0 Support; Windows XP; Updated OCR- ReadIris 7.0; OmniPage 11.0.
